Muchelney in pictures #6: The only way to travel

Muchelney floods, January 2014
It’s pretty common when we’re flooded (and cut off!) to see lots of local people swapping their cars for bicycles, boats, kayaks or canoes. When Muchelney was cut off last year, I jokingly said I would get myself a Kayak. Now I wish I had.

Muchelney floods, January 2014

Muchelney Floods, January 2014

Muchelney Floods, January 2014

After we’d realised our visitors would not be making it out of the village at New Year, we settled in for a few more days. When the village is cut off, there is little else to do other than take the dog out around the village. So we all donned wellies and headed out between the storms.
